About the artist
Graduated from the Film School in Łódź. Accomplished cinematographer as well as director, screenwriter, and lecturer. Founder and chairman of the board of the Film Spring Open Foundation. As cinematographer he has done over 70 films in 19 countries, including “Black Hawk Down” by Ridley Scott. Sławomir Idziak successfully combines the career of renowned filmmaker with that of a lecturer. He is professor emeritus of Kunsthochschule für Medien Köln (Department of Film and TV). For his work as cinematographer, as well as director, he has received numerous awards and distinctions at festivals in Gdynia, Berlin, Venice, Prague, Auckland, and nominations for BAFTA awards, a César, and an Oscar. He has received lifetime achievement awards at festivals in Marburg, Miskolc, and at Plus Camerimage.
