This year, SEFF Film Forum will host experts from the Baltic states – Lithuania, Germany, Poland, and Sweden. The discussion will revolve around contemporary forms of audience development, dominant in the world of independent cinema. In order to achieve public awareness, to aptly define the public’s opinion and adjust to viewers’ requirements, the necessity of building close relations with audiences and the skill of securing media interest are key.
As a reference point, we will use questions based on the attitude of the modern recipient of culture – questions on how to reach and encourage them to partake in what non-commercial cinema offers. In these times, can we count on the return of an educated film audience? Is society able to accept a non-multiplex form of film art? Our invited guests will attempt to answer these questions and many more.
