Radio Szczecin, Aleja Wojska Polskiego 73 (where is that?)
Blok tematyczny: radioART
For years people in Szczecin have been saying “Nothing ever happens here.” Archival recordings of Radio Szczecin, however, tell us something completely different. In the '60s Alina Głowacka made the series of broadcasts “Szczecin znany i nieznany”/“Szczecin as we (don't) know it”. It appears there was a lot happening back then – more and more artists, animators and organisers kept making festivals, events, new art places, etc. Among other events, in the archive we can find the beginnings of the Small Theatre Forms Festival “Kontrapunkt” (which used to be called the K.I. Gałczyński Festival), and the birth of Teatrzyk Krypta – now the Krypta Theatre at the Pomeranian Dukes' Castle. There were also films made in Szczecin, such as one based on the novel by an authot of ours – Ryszard Liskowacki...
This year's radioART chooses to meet us on the air instead of face to face. We would like to invite you to listen to Agata Rokicka and Arkadiusz Bis' broadcast “Szczecin we wtorek”/“Szczecin on Tuesday” on Radio Szczecin 92,0 FM, on the 6th of November at 7.05 PM. Their special guest will be the curator of radioART, Małgorzata Frymus, who shall present archival materials of her own choice.
