A choice of film productions from the Baltic region – Lithuania, Germany, Sweden, Denmark, and Poland. The audience gets a chance to get familiar with cinema which, although less known in Poland, is definitely interesting and noteworthy. The presentations will be complemented by meetings with the curators: Sven Eggers (DE), Dorota Roszkowska (PL), and Arne Papenhagen (DE).

Lives in Rostock. Since 2016 has been the director of FiSH (Festival im StadtHafen Rostock). He is part the festival team and has been presenting film events in the course of FiSH since 2008. From 2000 until 2011 he worked freelance as an editor, audio engineer, and author for documentary films. He was member of the film board jury of Mecklenburg-West Pomerania and chairperson of the Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Film e.V. He has also worked in other film juries such as the Findling Award at the festival dokumentART in Neubrandenburg.

After returning from Holland, where she had been involved in the audiovisual industry and marketing for many years, in the years 1997-2002 she worked as commissioning editor in the cultural department of TVP2 Polish Television, where she dealt with co-productions with the European Cultural Channel ARTE. Currently Dorota Roszkowska is head of the Academy of Documentary Arts, which organises international film education and promotion projects including the “Dragon Forum” pitching at the Krakow Film Festival, trainings in Kyiv, Moscow, and Perm, as well as the “Art of Documentary” screenings in Warsaw. Since 2003 Dorota Roszkowska has been running the independent company Arkana Studio. She is producer of “The Mill and the Cross,” a film by Lech Majewski after the Pieter Bruegel painting, “Poste Restante” by Marcel Łoziński, winner of the European Film Award and many other films. Dorota Roszkowska is a member of the European Film Academy, the European Documentary Network, board member of the Association of Polish Filmmakers and president of the International Association “Future of Media.”
read moreSven Eggers was born in 1972 in Berlin, where he now lives. His career began as an extra in his father’s Super 8 films. Founder and long-time programme director of the Tikozigalpa cinema in Wismar, which he managed from 1998-2003. In 2003 he founded the distribution company Schwimmer, and in 2013 the agency of the same name. Member of many international jurys (Schwerin, Cottbus, Tallinn, Karlovy Vary, New York). He gives film seminars and is programme director for small festivals. He also writes about architecture and film, and curates exhibitions.
