Bernadette Fox (Cate Blanchett) has a loving, though very busy husband (Billy Crudup) and a wonderful daughter, teenager Bee (Emma Nelson), for whom she is a best friend. Bernadette, believed to be a genius revolutionary of architecture among designers, is an eccentric woman who does not shy away from conflicts with her surroundings. One rainy day she disappears in strange circumstances. Bee, who decides she will do anything to find her, gradually discovers surprising facts from her mother’s life...

Born in 1960 in Houston. Co-founder of Austin Film Society as a self-taught filmmaker. His first success was the film “Slacker” (1991), which gained recognition at Sundance. His biggest success is “Boyhood” (six Academy Award nominations, one win), which he shot in 2002-2013. For his films he draws inspiration from the New German Cinema of the ‘60s and ‘70s, works by Frank Capra and Alfred Hitchcock. He attaches great significance to dialogues and working with actors.

Has written for “Rzeczpospolita,” “Polityka,” “Przegląd Tygodniowy,” “Teatr,” “Film,” “Kino,” “Ekran,” “Cinema,” “The European,” “The Montreal Gazette,” “Pani,” “Wprost,” “Kino Domowe DVD,” and “Tele Świat.”Creator of the Polish “Playboy” as well as its first editor-in-chief. Writes theatre and film reviews, literary director of the Komedia Theatre in Warsaw, the Rozrywka Theatre in Chorzów, the Danuta Baduszkowa Music Theatre in Gdynia, and the “Oko” Film Group. Co-creator (along with Maciej Ejsmond-Mechowski) of the Friends of Mireille Mathieu Association – LOŻA MM. Raczek used to be vice-director of TVP 2 and a lecturer at the Melchior Wańkowicz Warsaw School of Journalism.
