- Kill It And Leave This Town / Zabij to i wyjedź z tego miasta, 88'
„Kill It And Leave This Town” was Mariusz Wilczyński’s full-length animated debut at the Berlinale (2020). The artist worked on the film for 14 years. Escaping despair after the loss of his loved ones, the protagonist hides in a safe land of memories, where time stands still and all his loved ones are alive. The film gathered nearly 60 reviews, incl. in The Guardian, Variety, Hollywood Reporter, Screen Daily, and the New York Times. He has also won awards at many prestigious film festivals, incl. in Ottawa, Annecy, Sapporo, Vienna, Lima, Palić and Gdynia. In December 2020, “Zabij to i wyjedź z tego miasta” was screened on MoMA in New York. There is planned the opening of the exhibition “Zabij to i wyjedź z tego miasta” at Zachęta – National Gallery of Art in Warsaw in February 2022.

Polish animation director, performer, animation professor at the Film School in Łódź. He learned animation himself and since 1996 he has been making his own animated cinema. He had retrospectives of his films, incl. in MoMA in New York (2007), Anthology Film Archives in New York (2007 and 2020), Pretoria Art Museum (2007), National Museum of Brazil (2009), Tokyo International Forum (2014), Pera Museum in Istanbul (2014) , National Museum in Warsaw (2018). He also presented his films, among others at the National Gallery in London (2007), Lincoln, Center in New York (2010), and at the Berlinale (2008).

Mariusz Wilczyński also makes live animated films, in which he invites musicians, creating improvised performances with them. In the “Wolf’s” shows took part famous Polish and world symphony orchestras as well as Tomasz Stańko, Leszek Możdżer, Michał Urbaniak, Wojciech Waglewski, VOO VOO and Fisz Emade.
