Urodził się w Amsterdamie. Studiował historię i historię sztuki na Uniwersytecie Amsterdamskim. Później pracował dla kilku duńskich stacji nadawczych (NTR, VPRO, VARA) jako reżyser i badacz. W 2009 r. wygrał IDFA Mediafondsprijs Documentaire.
